Information Sessions
An
information session is hosted by a company and provides company
information to candidates. Companies usually hold information
sessions prior to their on-campus interviews. These sessions may
be the evening before interviews or a couple of weeks before interviews.
During the session company representatives will give an overview
of the company, specific information about positions they are
interviewing for an answer candidate questions.
Why
should I attend an Information Session?
If you are
planning to interview with a company who is hosting an information
session, attendance at the session is mandatory. You will learn
valuable information about the company, their expectations of
candidates and employees and have an opportunity to network with
company representatives in a more casual setting.
Most companies
use information sessions as a part of the hiring process. Recruiters
feel if you are a serious candidate you will be at their information
session. Some companies use the information session to see how
you present yourself outside of the interview room.
