and Bradstreet's Million Dollar directory (a nationwide
directory of businesses). Both of these are located at Pius
XII Memorial Library and most county/city libraries.
Another good
resource for finding local companies is the St. Louis Business
Journal's Book of Lists and can be found in most local libraries.

- ReferenceUSA is
a database housed on your homepage of Career SLeUth. ReferenceUSA enables
you to research companies within an industry in different geographical
locations.
- Business
and Company Resource Center go to the Pius XII Memorial Library's
website, www.slu.edu/libraries/pius/.
Click on "subject", click on "business",
then click on "Business and Company Resource". This
directory gives you lots of ways to search for information.
Search companies by name, industry code,and geographic area.
What's great about this online directory, is once you've found
a business you want to learn more about, there are tabs to
search for newspaper articles about that same business. There
are also tabs that give you links to relevant business associations.

and many major business journals. Databases such as Academic
Universe and ABI/Inform Global can be used in addition to Business
and Company Resource Center to get you the information you
need. If you are an international student, be sure to ask the
reference librarian how to research industries, companies,
current trends, and occupations in your home country.
